Virginia High School Basketball - Eastern Mennonite holds off Covenant

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA) and the visiting Covenant Eagles (Charlottesville, VA), saw Eastern Mennonite's basketball squad hold off Covenant by a tally of 53-52.

With the victory, Eastern Mennonite improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The travel to Miller School of Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA) to confront the Mavericks in a Virginia Independent challenge on Saturday, February 5. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Miller School of Albemarle won 1-0 in their recent league challenge against Carlisle (Martinsville, VA)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Carlisle Chiefs (Martinsville, VA) in a VISAA Division 3 challenge, on Saturday, February 5. Covenant will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 4-8 record after their 1-0 league loss to Miller School of Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA).
