January 19, 2024: Newport, NH 03773 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Kearsarge Cougars (North Sutton, NH) and the host Newport Tigers (Newport, NH), saw Kearsarge's basketball squad wallop Newport by a tally of 50-22.
With the victory, Kearsarge improves its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Stevens (Claremont, NH) to confront the Cardinals in a Division III challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Stevens lost 45-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Hopkinton (Contoocook, NH)
The Tigers now own a 1-9 record. They play next when they host Hinsdale for a non-league test on Monday, January 22. Newport will encounter a Pacers squad coming off a 41-39 league loss to Wilton-Lyndeborough (Wilton, NH). The Pacers record now stands at 3-5.
