New Mexico High School Basketball - Clovis edges Manzano
January 9, 2009: Clovis, NM 88101 The Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM), 49-44 in Friday's non-league test.
The Wildcats (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Gallup (Gallup, NM). The Bengals go into the non-league test with a 7-3 record. In their last test, Gallup got by Window Rock (Fort Defiance, AZ), 71-55, in a non-league test.
The Monarchs now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they host Albuquerque Academy for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 13. Manzano will clash with a Chargers squad coming off a 58-54 non-league loss to St. Pius (Albuquerque, NM). The Chargers record now stands at 6-8.
