The Perquimans Pirates basketball team (Hertford, NC), was nudged 52-50 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC)

The Knights now possess a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Manteo for a 2A/3A Conference 15 battle on Tuesday, January 4. Currituck County will confront a Redskins team coming off a 81-49 non-league win over New Life Academy (Elizabeth City, NC). The Redskins record now stands at 7-2.

The Pirates (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Panthers come into the 1A Conference 2 battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, Washington County was nudged by KIPP Pride (Gaston, NC), 92-82, in a non-league battle.
