The Newton Local Indians tipped the host Ansonia Tigers basketball team by a final score of 61-54 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Indians face the Milton-Union Bulldogs (West Milton, OH) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 13. Newton Local will attempt to move on its 5-4 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 1-9 record after their 55-37 league loss to Riverside (De Graff, OH).
