January 24, 2023: La Joya, TX 78560 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) and the visiting Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX), saw La Joya's basketball squad hold off Edinburg North by a tally of 53-52.
With the victory, La Joya improves its record to 20-11 on the campaign. The Coyotes travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (San Juan, TX) to confront the Bears in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 8-21. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo lost 67-52 in their recent league challenge against Economedes (Edinburg, TX)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Mission Eagles (Mission, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Edinburg North will attempt to improve on its 19-14 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-15 record after their 50-40 league loss to Edinburg (Edinburg, TX).
