The Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) football defeated the visiting Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA), 34-18 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Bears face the Williams Valley Vikings (Tower City, PA) in a Colonial-Schuylkill bout, on Friday, October 7. Mahanoy Area will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record. The Vikings enter the bout with a 4-2 record after their 48-12 league win over Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA).
