Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Millard South Patriots (Omaha, NE), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Grand Island upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Islanders host Hastings (Hastings, NE) to battle the Tigers in a non-league test on Tuesday, March 19. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 0-1. Hastings lost 8-6 in their recent non-league test against Bennington (Bennington, NE)

With the defeat, Millard South falls to 1-1 on the season. The Patriots travel to Omaha North (Omaha, NE) to battle the Vikings in a non-league test on Monday, March 18.
