The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) and the visiting Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX), observed Carthage's football squad defeat Rusk by a count of 49-21.

The Bulldogs now own a 8-0 record. They play next when they travel to Center for a 4A-2 Region II District 8 contest on Friday, October 20. Carthage will encounter a Roughriders squad coming off a 56-36 league loss to Van (Van, TX). The Roughriders record now stands at 5-2.

Coming up next, the Eagles encounter the Bullard Panthers (Bullard, TX) in a 4A-2 Region II District 8 contest, on Friday, October 20. Rusk will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 5-2 record after their 28-21 league win over Canton (Canton, TX).
