The East Union Eagles (Afton, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA), 50-45 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Eagles (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Southeast Warren (Liberty Center, IA). The Warhawks go into the Pride of Iowa test with a 4-3 record.

The Mustangs now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Moravia for a Bluegrass test on Friday, January 7. Murray will encounter a Mohawks squad coming off a 67-20 league win over Orient-Macksburg (Orient, IA). The Mohawks record now stands at 5-2.
