The Central Valley Warriors (Monaca, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA), 63-60 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Warriors (7-8) will now prepare for their test against New Castle (New Castle, PA). The Hurricanes go into the WPIAL AAA 2 test with a 14-3 record. In their last test, New Castle was tipped by Lincoln Park Performing Arts (Midland, PA), 59-47, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they host Laurel for a WPIAL AA 1 test on Tuesday, January 20. Riverside will encounter a Spartan squad coming off a 81-65 non-league win over Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Spartan record now stands at 12-3.
