Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Brentwood Bruins (Brentwood, TN), 65-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 13-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Centennial (Franklin, TN) to play the Cougars in a 4A District 10 bout on Friday, January 5. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 7-5. Centennial won 46-44 in their recent league bout against Page (Franklin, TN)

Next up, the Bruins play the Franklin Admirals (Franklin, TN) in a 4A District 10 bout, on Friday, January 5. Brentwood will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Admirals come into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 66-64 league win over Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN).
