New Hampshire High School Basketball - Newport overwhelms Somersworth
January 31, 2024: Somersworth, NH 03878 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Newport Tigers (Newport, NH) and the host Somersworth Toppers (Somersworth, NH), saw Newport's basketball squad wallop Somersworth by a tally of 53-22.
With the victory, Newport improves its record to 2-13 on the campaign. The Tigers host Hopkinton (Contoocook, NH) to confront the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 2. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Hopkinton won 48-25 in their recent non-league challenge against Campbell (Litchfield, NH)
Next up, the Toppers confront the Winnisquam Bears (Tilton, NH) in a Division III challenge, on Monday, February 5. Somersworth will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 47-20 league loss to Stevens (Claremont, NH).
