Oregon High School Basketball - Newberg holds off Willamette
December 29, 2023: Newberg, OR 97132 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newberg Tigers (Newberg, OR) and the visiting Willamette Wolverines (Eugene, OR), saw Newberg's basketball squad hold off Willamette by a tally of 63-62.
With the victory, Newberg improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Sandy (Sandy, OR) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 7-1.
Next up, the Wolverines confront the Springfield Millers (Springfield, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Willamette will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Millers come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 72-43 non-league loss to Putnam (Milwaukie, OR).
