The Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) softball routed the host Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), 21-0 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Scorpions (3-1) will now prepare for their bout against Casa Grande (Casa Grande, AZ). The Cougars go into the non-league bout with a 2-5 record. In their last bout, Casa Grande was routed by Chaparral (Scottsdale, AZ), 9-0, in a non-league bout.

The Patriots now possess a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Glendale for a 5A Central Valley bout on Monday, March 4. Independence will confront a Cardinals squad coming off a 17-14 non-league win over Metro Tech (Phoenix, AZ). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-6.
