The South Mecklenburg Sabres topped the visiting Independence Patriots volleyball team by a score of 3-1 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Sabres now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Providence for a non-league test on Thursday, August 17. South Mecklenburg will confront a Panthers team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 0-1.

The Patriots (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Chambers (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Chambers was knocked off by Butler (Matthews, NC), 3-0, in a non-league test.
