In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Grimsley Whirlies basketball team scored a decisive 78-28 triumph over the Parkland Mustangs.

In their next game, the Whirlies meet the Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC) in a 4A Conference 55 match, on Friday, January 20. Grimsley will attempt to better on its 13-4 season record. The Nighthawks enter the match with a 5-8 record after their 73-53 league win over Western Guilford (Greensboro, NC).

With the defeat, Parkland moves to 5-11 on the year. The Mustangs host Glenn (Kernersville, NC) to meet the Bobcats in a 4A Conference 56 match on Tuesday, January 17. The Bobcats enter the match with a record of 8-9. Glenn lost 51-50 in their recent league match against Davie (Mocksville, NC)
