The Piney Woods Tornadoes basketball team scored 58 points and held the host Stringer Red Devils to 42 in the Tornadoes league triumph on Friday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mount Olive for a 1A Region 7 contest on Tuesday, January 30.

The Red Devils (5-18) will now prepare for their contest against Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS). The Gators enter the 1A Region 7 contest with a 11-13 record. In their last contest, Leake County ran past Mississippi School for the Deaf (Jackson, MS), 99-6, in a league contest.
