Mississippi High School Basketball - Leake County crushes Stringer
January 30, 2024: Stringer, MS 39481 Leake County Gators (Walnut Grove, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Stringer Red Devils (Stringer, MS), 67-37 in a league bout.
With the victory, Leake County upgrades its record to 12-13 on the campaign. The Gators host Taylorsville (Taylorsville, MS) to play the Tartars in a 1A Region 7 bout on Friday, February 2. The Tartars come into the bout with a record of 12-16. Taylorsville won 82-21 in their recent league bout against Mississippi School for the Deaf (Jackson, MS)
Next up, the Red Devils play the Piney Woods Tornadoes (Piney Woods, MS) in a 1A Region 7 bout, on Friday, February 2. Stringer will attempt to upgrade on its 5-19 season record. The Tornadoes come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 46-39 league win over Mount Olive (Mount Olive, MS).
