California High School Softball - Torrey Pines gets by Otay Ranch
March 31, 2009: San Diego, CA 92130 The Torrey Pines Falcons (San Diego, CA) softball nipped the visiting Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA), 1-0 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Falcons (12-1) will now prepare for their bout against Henry (San Diego, CA). The Patriots go into the non-league bout with a 1-4 record. In their last bout, Henry held off Mar Vista (Imperial Beach, CA), 6-2, in a non-league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Steele Canyon for a non-league bout on Saturday, April 4. Otay Ranch will confront a Cougars squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Santana (Santee, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 8-6.

The Torrey Pines Falcons won their 7th straight game, defeating the Otay Ranch Mustangs 1-0 in the fourth round of the 10th annual Falcon Fiesta Softball Tournament yesterday at Torrey Pines. Junior, right handed pitcher, Sydney Gerbracht improved to 6-0 on the season by throwing a 2 hit shut out for the winners. The Torrey Pines pitching staff has thrown 9 shut outs in 13 games this season. Senior, Left fielder Chelsea Small drove in the games only run with a 5th inning single to help the Falcons improve to a school record best start of 12-1. Otay Ranch drops to 3-6 with the loss.
