The West Bloomfield Lakers (West Bloomfield, MI) football defeated the host Groves Falcons (Beverly Hills, MI), 39-28 in Thursday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lakers face the Clarkston Wolves (Clarkston, MI) in a Oakland - Red bout, on Friday, August 31. West Bloomfield will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Wolves enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 12-9 non-league win over Grandville (Grandville, MI).
