Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), 17-6 in a league challenge.

The Coalers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lisle for a Interstate Eight challenge on Monday, April 26. Coal City will battle a Lions squad coming off a 8-1 league loss to Streator (Streator, IL). The Lions record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Reed-Custer falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Comets host Wilmington (Wilmington, IL) to battle the Wildcats in a Interstate Eight challenge on Thursday, April 29.
