Iowa High School Basketball - Newman Central Catholic trounces Prince of Peace Prep
January 21, 2023: Clinton, IA 52732 The Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) basketball crushed the host Prince of Peace Prep Irish (Clinton, IA), 76-46 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Comets (18-5) will now prepare for their test against St. Bede (Peru, IL). The Bruins go into the Three Rivers - East test with a 7-15 record. In their last test, St. Bede was trounced by Princeton (Princeton, IL), 81-46, in a league test.
The Irish now own a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to Wilton for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 24. Prince of Peace Prep will encounter a Beavers squad coming off a 71-43 league win over Tipton (Tipton, IA). The Beavers record now stands at 10-4.
