Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Foard Tigers (Newton, NC), 60-20 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 28. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 9-2. St. Stephens won 63-51 in their recent non-league bout against Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC)

Next up, the Tigers play the East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC) in a 3A Conference 51 bout, on Tuesday, January 4. Foard will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 9-0 record after their 81-58 non-league win over Huss (Gastonia, NC).
