With the win, Independence improves its record to 2-2 on the season. The Patriots travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Cougars in a Southwestern 4A outing on Friday, September 22. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 3-1.

With the loss, South Mecklenburg moves to 0-4 on the season. The Sabres host Olympic (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Trojans in a 4A South Meck outing on Thursday, September 14.
