The Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) volleyball were winner over the host Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 3-0 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

With the win, Independence betters its record to 8-4 on the year. The Patriots travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to face the Cougars in a Southwestern 4A outing on Tuesday, September 26. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 7-5. Charlotte Catholic won 3-0 in their recent league outing against Providence (Charlotte, NC)

The Pirates now sport a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Monroe for a non-league outing on Thursday, September 21. Porter Ridge will face a Redhawks squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC). The Redhawks record now stands at 1-10.
