Ohio High School Basketball - Steele can't hold off Avon

The Avon Eagles basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Steele Comets to 55 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Avon Lake for a Southwestern contest on Friday, February 23. Avon will battle a Shoremen team coming off a 64-58 non-league win over Normandy (Parma, OH). The Shoremen record now stands at 11-10.

The Comets (9-12) will now prepare for their contest against North Ridgeville (North Ridgeville, OH). The Rangers enter the Southwestern match with a 12-9 record. In their last match, North Ridgeville tipped Padua Franciscan (Parma, OH), 73-53, in a non-league match.
