The Diller-Odell Griffin (Odell, NE) basketball nipped the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE), 45-41 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Griffin (5-4) will now prepare for their test against Tri County (DeWitt, NE). The Trojans go into the C2 District 2 test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Tri County got by Johnson County Central (Tecumseh, NE), 48-45, in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they host McCool Junction for a D1 District 3 test on Friday, January 4. Meridian will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 42-39 non-league loss to East Butler (Brainard, NE). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-4.
