The Huntingtown Hurricanes (Huntingtown, MD) basketball felled the visiting Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD), 56-37 in Wednesday's league test.

The Hurricanes (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Westlake (Waldorf, MD). The Wolverines go into the Southern Maryland test with a 10-1 record. In their last test, Westlake thwarted Calvert (Prince Frederick, MD), 79-45, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Lackey for a Southern Maryland test on Friday, February 4. Great Mills will encounter a Chargers squad coming off a 54-53 league win over Chopticon (Morganza, MD). The Chargers record now stands at 2-7.
