The McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) basketball nipped the host El Dorado Cougars (Placerville, CA), 59-55 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Lions (5-8) will now prepare for their test against El Capitan (Merced, CA). The Gauchos go into the non-league test with a 6-6 record. In their last test, El Capitan was tipped by Turlock (Turlock, CA), 72-48, in a non-league test.
