The Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) basketball crushed the host Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), 78-24 in Friday's league test.

The Eagles (13-3) will now prepare for their test against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Hawks go into the 3A District 1 test with a 12-6 record. In their last test, Thoreau was trounced by Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM), 49-42, in a league test.

The Skyhawks now own a 3-17 record. They play next when they host Thoreau for a 3A District 1 test on Wednesday, February 2. Newcomb will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 48-43 league win over Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 13-6.
