Iowa High School Basketball - Solon edges Regina
January 22, 2011: Solon, IA 52333 The Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Regina Regals (Iowa City, IA), 55-49 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Spartans (13-1) will now prepare for their test against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA). The Mustangs go into the WAMAC - East test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, Mt. Vernon got by Prairie (Cedar Rapids, IA), 44-41, in a non-league test.
The Regals now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tipton for a Eastern Hawkeye test on Tuesday, January 25. Regina will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 67-22 non-league loss to Northeast (Goose Lake, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 0-15.
