The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) football edged the host St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), 18-14 in Thursday's league bout.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout, on Friday, March 5. Freedom will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Red Tornadoes enter the bout with a 0-1 record after their 21-7 league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC).
