The Great Mills Hornets basketball team (Great Mills, MD), was overwhelmed 81-54 in Monday's league battle with the host Westlake Wolverines (Waldorf, MD)

The Wolverines now possess a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Calvert for a Southern Maryland contest on Wednesday, February 2. Westlake will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 71-24 league loss to Stone (Waldorf, MD). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-11.

The Hornets (9-4) will now prepare for their contest against Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD). The Hurricanes enter the Southern Maryland contest with a 10-2 record. In their last contest, Huntingtown triumphed over McDonough (Pomfret, MD), 54-48, in a non-league contest.
