The Central Lions (Hayneville, AL) football defeated the visiting Verbena Red Devils (Verbena, AL), 28-20 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Lions face the Wilcox Central Jaguars (Camden, AL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 29. Central will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Jaguars enter the bout with a 0-4 record after their 41-20 league loss to Escambia County (Atmore, AL).
