The North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Windber Ramblers (Windber, PA), 44-37 in Thursday's league test.

The Cougars (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Shade (Cairnbrook, PA). The Panthers go into the Western Pennsylvania - Southern test with a 4-3 record. In their last test, Shade got by United (Armagh, PA), 55-50, in a non-league test.

The Ramblers now own a 7-4 record. They play next when they host Berlin Brothersvalley for a non-league test on Monday, January 16. Windber will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 52-49 non-league loss to Portage (Portage, PA). The Mountaineers record now stands at 8-2.
