The Portage Mustangs basketball team (Portage, PA), was toppled 51-35 in Thursday's league battle with the host North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA)

The Cougars now possess a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Conemaugh Township for a Western Pennsylvania - Northern battle on Friday, January 5. North Star will confront a Indians team coming off a 74-63 league win over Blacklick Valley (Nanty Glo, PA). The Indians record now stands at 4-6.

The Mustangs (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Claysburg-Kimmel (Claysburg, PA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, Claysburg-Kimmel was toppled by West Branch (Morrisdale, PA), 61-47, in a league battle.
