New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan nips Tularosa
February 12, 2022: Tularosa, NM 88352 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) and the host Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM), saw Capitan's basketball squad hold off Tularosa by a tally of 33-31.
With the victory, Capitan improves its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to play the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 challenge on Thursday, February 17. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 15-7.
Next up, the Wildcats play the Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM) in a 2A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 15. Tularosa will attempt to improve on its 9-9 season record. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a 11-9 record after their 52-25 league win over Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM).
