West Virginia High School Basketball - Phelps overwhelms Man
January 4, 2024: Man, WV 25635 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY) and the host Man Hillbillies (Man, WV), saw Phelps's basketball squad wallop Man by a tally of 54-31.
With the victory, Phelps improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Prestonsburg (Prestonsburg, KY) to confront the Blackcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 5. The Blackcats come into the challenge with a record of 9-5. Prestonsburg won 70-66 in their recent non-league challenge against Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY)
Next up, the Hillbillies confront the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Man will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Miners come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 34-31 non-league loss to Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV).
