January 24, 2025: West Liberty, KY 41472 The Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) basketball were winner over the host Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY), 72-53 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Lions now possess a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Fairview for a District 64 bout on Monday, January 27. Boyd County will play a Eagles team coming off a 66-41 non-league loss to Glenwood (New Boston, OH). The Eagles record now stands at 1-12.
With the loss, Morgan County falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Cougars host Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 28. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Betsy Layne lost 64-58 in their recent non-league bout against Paintsville (Paintsville, KY)
