Virginia High School Basketball - Lee can't hold off Hayfield
December 30, 2011: Alexandria, VA 22315 The Lee Lancers basketball team (Springfield, VA), was nudged 44-41 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA)
The Hawks now sport a 2-6 record. They play next when they host Stuart for a AAA National battle on Tuesday, January 3. Hayfield will meet a Raiders team coming off a 52-17 non-league loss to Dominion (Sterling, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 0-7.
The Lancers (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 4-5 record. In their last battle, Rockbridge County edged McCluer (Buena Vista, VA), 45-36, in a non-league battle.
