The El Capitan Gauchos football team (Merced, CA), was ripped 75-20 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Downey Knights (Modesto, CA)

The Knights (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Beyer (Modesto, CA). The Patriots come into the Modesto Metro Conference challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Beyer was ripped by Central Catholic (Modesto, CA), 41-13, in a non-league challenge.

The Gauchos now sport a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they host Livingston for a Western Athletic Conference match on Friday, September 26. El Capitan will clash with a Wolves squad coming off a 30-15 non-league win over Mariposa County (Mariposa, CA). The Wolves record now stands at 3-1.
