The Slaton Tigers tipped the visiting Abernathy Antelopes basketball team by a final score of 49-42 in Thursday's league game.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Shallowater Mustangs (Shallowater, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 game, on Friday, January 5. Slaton will attempt to move on its 13-2 season record. The Mustangs enter the game with a 6-6 record after their 45-38 non-league loss to Lubbock Christian (Lubbock, TX).

With the defeat, Abernathy moves to 11-6 on the year. The Antelopes travel to Chapin (El Paso, TX) to face the Huskies in a non-league game on Thursday, December 28. The Huskies enter the game with a record of 6-10. Chapin won 54-20 in their recent non-league game against Horizon (El Paso, TX)
