Minnesota High School Basketball - Pine Island nips Lewiston-Altura
January 12, 2022: Pine Island, MN 55963 Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Lewiston-Altura Cardinals (Lewiston, MN), 59-56 in a league bout.
With the victory, Pine Island upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, MN) to play the Komets in a non-league bout on Friday, January 14. The Komets come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Kasson-Mantorville won 56-52 in their recent league bout against Byron (Byron, MN)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Caledonia Warriors (Caledonia, MN) in a AA Section 1 bout, on Monday, January 17. Lewiston-Altura will attempt to upgrade on its 10-1 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 12-0 record after their 84-41 non-league win over Wabasha-Kellogg (Wabasha, MN).
