Colorado High School Basketball - Montezuma-Cortez nips Centauri
February 3, 2024: Cortez, CO 81321 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO) and the visiting Centauri Falcons (La Jara, CO), saw Montezuma-Cortez's basketball squad hold off Centauri by a count of 48-44.
With the victory, Montezuma-Cortez upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Panthers host Alamosa (Alamosa, CO) to play the Mean Moose in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge on Monday, February 5. The Mean Moose come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Alamosa lost 54-32 in their recent league challenge against Pagosa Springs (Pagosa Springs, CO)
Next up, the Falcons play the Bayfield Wolverines (Bayfield, CO) in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Centauri will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 52-13 league loss to Ignacio (Ignacio, CO).
