In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Purvis Tornadoes basketball team scored a tight 52-50 triumph over the Richton Rebels.

In their next game, the Tornadoes meet the Lumberton Panthers (Lumberton, MS) in a non-league match, on Monday, December 11. Purvis will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 7-2 record after their 47-16 non-league win over Perry Central (New Augusta, MS).

With the defeat, Richton moves to 5-7 on the year. The Rebels host Poplarville (Poplarville, MS) to meet the Hornets in a non-league match on Friday, December 15. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 6-5. Poplarville lost 51-26 in their recent league match against Bay (Bay St. Louis, MS)
