The Highland Hawks (Warrenton, VA) basketball nipped the host Blue Ridge Barons (St. George, VA), 34-33 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Hawks (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, Hargrave Military Academy got by Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA), 89-85, in a non-league test.

The Barons now own a 17-5 record. They play next when they travel to North Cross for a VISAA Division 2 test on Monday, January 31. Blue Ridge will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 60-49 league win over Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 8-2.
