In Friday's league game, the Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX) football team got by the host Hays Hawks (Buda, TX), by a score of 41-34.

The Matadors (6-1) will now prepare for their game against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX). The Cougars come into the 5A-1 Region III District 12 game with a 6-1 record. In their last game, Canyon nipped Lehman (Kyle, TX), 49-14, in a league game.

The Hawks now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wagner for a 5A-1 Region III District 12 game on Thursday, October 20. Hays will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 47-7 league win over Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 4-3.
