Michigan High School Baseball - Anderson nips Roosevelt
April 14, 2011: Wyandotte, MI 48192 The Anderson Titans (Southgate, MI) baseball nipped the host Roosevelt Bears (Wyandotte, MI), 6-5 in Thursday's league contest.

Game Summary
After the host Bears took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning, Anderson rallied for 5 in the 5th to make it 5-2. The Titans were helped by 3 hit batters and 2 walks. Greg Galetto notched the first run with an RBI single to drive in Gabe Becker who led off the inning with a single to right. 4 batters later, David Plyler came through with a clutch 2 out 2 RBI single. Wyandotte cut the lead to 5-4 entering the 7th inning. In the final frame Justin Smith had a 2 out double and courtesy runner Paul Sullivan would score on Becker's 2nd single of the day to give Southgate a 6-4 lead. Smith, the Titan starter, went 6 innings giving up 3 hits while striking out 8 would give way to Craig McNees in the 7th. McNees got 2 quick outs before allowing the next 3 batters to reach base to put the score at 6-5. The junior right hander closed out the game by getting the next batter to pop up to 1st baseman. With the victory, Anderson extends their winning streak to 5, 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the league.
