The East Mecklenburg Eagles basketball team (Charlotte, NC), was toppled 72-64 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC)

The Cougars now possess a 21-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Charlotte Christian for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent battle on Tuesday, January 17. Cannon will confront a Knights team coming off a 66-59 non-league win over Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC). The Knights record now stands at 8-10.

The Eagles (13-4) will now prepare for their battle against Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC). The CMS Athletics come into the 4A Conference 59 battle with a 7-10 record. In their last battle, Rocky River was toppled by Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC), 67-44, in a non-league battle.
